I think this may be something of an oversimplification of my point. My definition of innovation, whether incremental or radical, has to do with whether or not the product, process or thing that results is truly new and original, or merely an incremental iteration of the same fundamental thing as the first.
I think it’s absolutely possible to innovate incrementally. My point was that so much of what is passed off as “innovative” is not actually new or original at all.
